 He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God?

Micah 6:8

King David wanted to build God a temple, but God would not allow him to do so, because he was a man of war. So God told David that his son, Solomon, would be the one who would build a tabernacle for Him. Like any good father, David gathered all the essentials needed for the project, and he chose the perfect site where it would be built. 2 Chronicles begins with Solomon's rise as King of Israel and the construction of the temple, a place where God's Spirit would dwell. After the tabernacle was finished, and Solomon had made sacrifices to God in the presence of all the tribes and leaders, and the priests had undergone purification rites and were worshiping God, the glory of the Lord filled the temple so the priests could not finish their work. O how we need for the Spirit of the living God to fall fresh on this country and spark revival and reformation.

Although no finite structure could ever hold an infinite God, it can reflect His glory. When Moses went into the tent of meeting to talk with God, when he left he had to wear a veil over his face, because Moses' face radiated the glory of God's presence. Imagine the affect that would have on churches if the Shekinah Glory of God came down upon the praying saints. Today Holy Spirit dwells, makes His home in us as born again believers, so our countenance should reflect His presence, reflecting the love of our Savior shining for all the world to see. This is my hope in this world in which we live today, when men have become lovers of themselves, and churches are too afraid, timid or apathetic to leave the 99 to search for the one who strayed, or to go out into the streets and seek for those who are lost, yet open to hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, because this world and all that it offers does not suffice. It is never enough. The only one who can satisfy is our Lord Jesus Christ.

Today is National Day of Prayer that began back when Harry Truman was President in 1952, but it was established as the first Thursday of May by President Ronald Reagan. It is a time of repentance for our sins, personally and as a nation, as we seek God's forgiveness and ask for His mercy and grace, His help in our desperate need. We enter His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise, as it is a time of rejoicing as we praise and worship our King of kings and Lord of lords. We come with hearts wide open, surrendered to His will, in gratitude for all He has done, is doing, and will do. How we exalt the Name of our LORD.

Today is Israel's Day of Independence, but the celebration has been hindered by the fires raging in the Jerusalem hills all around, and fires set by arsonists within the city. The enemy does not want for Israel to celebrate their freedom and the birth of their State. He does not want America to celebrate our God on this day of prayer, but we must persevere. Time is short, and the harvest is ripe, and the Master is returning for His faithful ones. So this day we pray for the independence of our beloved hostages, for the return of all, living and dead. Divinely intervene on their behalf, O LORD, so that all will see that man did not do it, but God!!

May the words of Psalm 91 bring protection, peace, and joy to our President and his entire administration, and their families. We thank You for Your selection of godly men and women to steward the works of this nation. Give our President and his administration Your wisdom and discernment in how to lead our nation, as many look to America for strength and leadership. As our leaders bow in reverence and seek Your face today, speak to them and manifest Your glory. May their eyes be enlightened so that they would know the hope to which You have called them. Bless them, O LORD, I pray. In the precious Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

"Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will

deliver him; I will set him on high, because  he has known My name.

He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him and honor him,

with long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.

Psalm 91:14-16
