Day 32 All in a Day's Work - A Bit of Nonsense

2/1/2025

This little fellow caught my eye on  Pinterest. I haven't taken the time in quite a while to play around with my boards, although it is fun to build story lines. Judging from all the emails I receive, many people still enjoy the pastime. Perhaps I need to make time to do something fun to distract myself a bit, but then time is so important I hate to waste it.

I've been so absorbed in writing daily that I've forgotten how to be spontaneous. I think I may just shake things up a bit and enjoy less serious interests. I used to design teddy bears as a small business, as well as other arts and crafts. Pinterest is a good diversion, and it makes my mind explodes with creative ideas. So today seems like a good time for an adventure.

The weather does not agree with me, as the rain and colder days, accompanied with high wind, cuts through my body, and I become so cold and miserable. It doesn't matter how many shirts or sweaters, or even jackets I put on in the house, I still tend to get so cold. I tend to get snappy when I'm not feelings my best, and I neglect some things, allowing my mind to wander again and dream.

I decided to take a breather from deleting emails and shuffling through piles of papers, and find balance in completing projects, as well as digging around for inspiration for my blogs. My mind is always too active, and I tend to get behind despite my best efforts. I makes notes on small scraps of paper, then I wonder what they mean. So I take a little time to incorporate all the notes into one large note, but then, I lose the big note. By the time I find it, I can't remember what any of it means. Maybe I should post them on the walls. Oh, yes I need the password for Pinterest.

Let me see, I don't remember where I put the calendar and my note pad. It's somewhere in here, I think. Oh, and I need the book for my Pinterest account. My, o my, I need to clean this chest out. How can I ever find what I need in this mess! Hmm, here's a half-eaten lollipop and a half box of gummy worms. I wonder if they're still fresh. Oops, I hear my cell phone ringing, and I can't remember where I put it. Maybe it's in here. Yes, there it is. Wait, no, that's the remote control I've been hunting for for a month of Sundays! Now I've forgotten what I'm looking for. Bother! Maybe if I try another strategy.

The weather is quite nice this afternoon. Maybe I'll take a little walk and see what I can see. Clear my mind. That's always a good idea. Breathe and relax and enjoy the pastoral countryside. The field is so green from all the rain , but the farmers want for more. I'll take some time to smell the roses, although I don't really know what that means. The only thing I smell is the aroma of horse plops and a distant skunk. I think I best move on, as the intruder is getting closer.

On the way back home I stopped to ask Miranda if she'd seen my book of passwords, and if Junior was home. She laughed at me, asked me to play with her a while, so after a nice chat, I hastened on my way. Miranda loves tea parties and playing dress up, but I needed to find Junior. She told me that he was "hanging around,"  outside, but I didn't know what she meant until I went outside to the back yard, and true to her words, he was hanging around.

Junior was hanging on the clothes line, drying in the sun. He said he me with an intruder who left a bold impression on him, so Miranda decided she'd wash him and hang him out to dry. As I neared him I got a strong whiff of the intruder's scent. Junior would need more time to air out, so I bid him a "see ya tomorrow," and I headed off to find someone else to help me with my quest.

On second thought I decided to take Miranda up on her tea party, so here I sit with empty plate, empty cup, waiting for Miranda to soothe my empty belly. I guess after this I'll take a nap. All this fresh country air, and the not so fresh, have made me tired. Tomorrow is another day!
